Canadians from small and medium towns have seen it happening for years: local newscasts reduced, shuttered and converged into large stations in big cities. While a few lone TV stations manage to exist here and there, our small and medium-sized Canadian towns are mostly left out of the headlines.
The HTTV media team live in Northwestern-Ontario and work hard to fill the news, sports, and community coverage void created by the modern Canadian media industry. Local voices, values, and everyday news is shared across the web and social media platforms from people who have deep roots in these underserved communities.
From humble beginnings, HTTV is growing to become a trusted resource for local information. The internet news channel launched in 2017 is expanding to cover small communities in 3 central Canadian provinces. Communities served by HTTV will include Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, Portage la Prairie Manitoba and 4 hubs in Northwestern-Ontario: Kenora, Dryden, Red Lake and Fort Frances.
What matters to the folks at HTTV? Local sports, out-of-this-world local outdoors content, local news coverage, and the everyday stories that make up the life we love, in our small Canadian towns.
This website was developed to bring TRUE community coverage, weather, sports and special event coverage! Professionally produced news segments from street closures, police reports to local sports teams results, we have it all. Watch what you want when you want!
