Three injured after serious Highway 17 collision
Three people were transferred to Lake of the Woods hospital after a serious collision on Highway 17 near Whitehead Road.
Shortly after midnight, Kenora OPP, Emergency Medical Services, and Kenora Fire and Safety services responded to reports of the head-on collision involving two vehicles.
The drivers of both vehicles as well as a passenger were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigation has led to one of the drivers, a 61-year-old man from Kenora, being charged with careless driving causing bodily harm, in addition to a 3-day license suspension after the drivier blew an alert on a screening device.
The highway was shut down briefly during the investigation but has since been re-opened.
