Southern Ontario hunter fined for illegal moose hunt near Sioux Lookout
A hunter from Southern Ontario has been fined for an illegal moose hunt east of Sioux Lookout.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry began their investigation back in September 2021 after a bull moose had been shot on Road 702, near Savant Lake.
The hunter was eventually identified and faces a $6,000 fine. They were also charged for careless use of a firearm and have to re-take the Ontario Hunter Education Course before applying for a new hunting license.
