
Cocaine trafficking bust in Big Trout Lake
An arrest was made in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation after a police investigation led to a cocaine trafficking bust.
The search warrant was executed on July 1st after Ontario Provincial Police received information about illicit drugs was being trafficked into the community from Thunder Bay.
The investigation led to the seizure of the following items:
- Prohibited alcohol
- Cocaine
- A rifle and ammunition
- Cell phones
- Laptops
- Canadian currency
- An ATM
A 28-year-old resident of the community was also arrested and faces various drug trafficking charges, as well as careless storage of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The accused has been remanded into custody following a bail hearing, and the OPP continues their investigation.
