Lengthy Standoff in Dryden Leads to Man Being Taken Into Custody
In the early afternoon on Monday, the Dryden Police Service responded to a complaint of disturbance in a residence in the downtown area.
It was there where they learned a 23-year-old man had barricaded himself in his suite and was causing extensive damage to the premises.
Due to the nature of the weapons the subject had in his possession and his unwillingness to comply with police, the Dryden Police Service treated the situation as an armed and barricaded subject. The police did not specify the kind of weapons the subject had.
After a seven and a half-long standoff, and calling in the OPP Emergency Response Team, the man was taken into custody. No injuries were reported.
