Kenora School Closes Class Due to COVID-19 Case
Just two days into the school year, the Pop John Paul II elementary school had to close a classroom due to a positive COVID-19 case, which the Kenora Catholic District School Board announced on Sunday.
The school board did not give any further details about the case, citing privacy issues, but said they were working with the Northwestern Health Unit to minimalize potential risks. The board also stated that anyone identified as a contact with the case will be called and given instructions. Anyone not contacted by the school can continue to attend as normal.
The school board remind students and staff to use the provincial school screening tool daily before attending school.
