
Eight People Charged After Assaulting Fort Frances Officer
A Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police officer was interfered by multiple people while attempting to make an arrest of a wanted individual on the afternoon of August 19.
The interference escalated and the police vehicle was damaged by the multiple persons and the officer was assaulted with a weapon by an individual. The officer and members of the public were not injured at the altercation.
During the investigation, officers seized the following items which led to charges under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:
- An airsoft look-alike handgun
- A stun gun
- 4 grams of methamphetamine
- 6.7 grams of fentanyl
- 4 hydromorphone capsules
- Over $8,000 in Canadian currency
As a result of the investigation completed by the OPP and Rainy River District Crime Unit, the following persons have been charged with mischief, obstruct of peace, and possession of schedule 1 substances:
Adream Spoon, 31-years-old from Fort Frances
Fawn Perrault, 23-years-old from Fort Frances
Denise Quagon, 50-years-old from Fort Frances
Jason Alexa, 48-years-old from Fort Frances
Ashley Gauthier, 30-years-old from Fort Frances
Karrah Ogden, 28-years-old from Fort Frances
Further to the mentioned persons, two young persons were also arrested and charges with offences related to this investigation.
