Wearing a Mask Remains a Requirement in Ontario
The Northwestern Health Unit reminds the public in a media release that wearing a mask or face covering in enclosed public spaces is a requirement in Ontario.
This rule is for anyone in Ontario, including visitors from places where the mandate is not in place.
“At this time, most individuals in the province, whether they are vaccinated or not, must wear a mask when in an enclosed public space,” says Dr. Kit Young Hoon, Medical Officer of Health at NHWU. “The masking requirement applies to out of province visitors in addition to residents of Ontario.”
Public health experts note that wearing masks, in addition to other prevention measures such as physical distancing and proper hand hygiene help to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
